    G&A Partners is partnering with Genective, a technology joint venture of two leading global seed companies, who is looking for a Head of In Vitro Entomology to join their dynamic team in Champaign, IL.

     

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Head of In Vitro Entomology Screening has the opportunity of building their team in a dynamic and informal environment.This positions’ expertise is instrumental to achieve technical and scientific goals as the team ramps up. Strong leadership skills will also support excellence in swift delivery of scientific results of the highest rigor and standard for rapid decision making.

    Responsibilities

    • Build dedicated in vitro entomology screening team.
    • Demonstrate passion and leadership to bring the in vitro screening team together and as part of the global Genective team, building a strong team culture based on high sense of individual value.
    • Become an active member of the research leadership to promote continuous improvement by challenging status quo and develop innovative sample screening process.
    • Contribute to infuse energy and passion throughout the research activities.
    • Develop and maintain high performance standards for the In vitro entomology team.
    • Identify agile and innovative solutions to scientific problems through teamwork and design action driven solutions.
    • Accountable for scientific rigor of in vitro entomology data package to support sound decision making.
    • Design and execute entomology in vitro screening thriving for high throughput production of reliable and robust data for decision making.
    • Analyze data and communicate concise results for decision making.

    Education:

    • MS or PhD in entomology; experience with corn pests is a strong plus.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in leading entomology in vitro screening efforts.
    • Familiarity with Insect Resistance Management is a plus.
    • Proficiency with MS office or similar. Familiar with statistical analysis software and data presentation software. (SpotFire is a plus)
    • Must have excellent written, communication, and presentation skills, with excellent time and program management skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and agile environment.
