G&A Partners' client, a currently seeking a privately held corrugated materials manufacturing company , is looking for a Controller to join its team 

     

    The Controller position is a little different from typical roles with the added HR functions placed on the position.The ideal canoddidate would have a 40/60 split with 60% of the time spent overseeing local HR issues.

    Responsibilities

    Safety - Follow all Safety Policies/Procedures including/but not limited to the following:

    • Maintain neat and orderly work area
    • Monitor all job functions to match Safety Policies

    Quality - Follow all Quality Policies/Procedures including/but not limited to the following:

    • Monitor all job functions to match Quality Policies
    • Ensure prompt and accurate execution of all job functions
    • Work from written and verbal directions
    • Ensures prompt, courteous, accurate completion of all job functions

    Production - Strive to reach Production Goals by doing the following

    • Supervise, train and provide leadership to the administrative department
    • Administer and maintain the timely processing of all administrative functions
    • Establish and maintain good internal controls and perpetual financial data in order to be supportive and responsive to internal and external audits
    • Maintain a perpetual asset listing
    • Facilitate the preparation of budgets and long-term capitals plans
    • Analyze equipment capabilities, inventory levels and labor standards to take advantage of profit opportunities
    • Responsible to ensure company stays in compliance will all federal/state/local employment related requirements
    • Monitors human resource management system to adhere to policies and promote employee welfare.
    • Manage employee changes of status, handle employee complaints in accordance with company policy and make effective recommendations for promotions, transfers and terminations
    • Performs monthly and yearly closing functions and provide management with financial reports using the management system
    • Train personnel from other departments in administrative and financial matters
    • Maintain discipline and promote morale
    • Ensures timely processing of key management reports, accounts payable, account receivable and software development
    • Ensures timely corrective action to office related internal quality audit deficiencies
    • Ensures procedure compliance and related training for office Associates
    • Member of QSRT
    • Reports to the General Manager

    Qualifications

    • 5-10 years of relevant experience as a Controller in a manufacturing environment
    • Familiar with HR functions and employment law
    • Proven record of supervising staff
    • Proficient with MS Office Suite
    • Interested in learning the operations (production – customer service – design – sales)
    • Comfortable with leading meetings (good communications)
    • CPA, CMA a plus
    • Responsible for plant financial statements
    • Month-end cycles (Inventory – billing cutoff – accounts payable)
    • Ability to process payroll with outside service
