Summary

The role of a President is to facilitate and guide company operations to ensure company goals are met. This can involve building business relationships, managing financial details, communicating with shareholders and determining what metrics to use to measure success. Presidents represent the company to business partners and explore different avenues for funding, determining the potential risks and rewards of each business opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and carry out organizational or departmental procedures, goals and policies.
  • Direct and oversee an organization’s budgetary and financial activities.
  • Manage general activities associated with providing services and making products.
  • Consult with other board members, executives and staff about general operations.
  • Negotiate and approve agreements and contracts.
  • Appoint managers and department heads.
  • Analyze performance indicators, financial statements and sales reports.
  • Identify areas to cut costs while improving programs, performance and policies.
  • Provide inspired leadership company-wide.
  • Report to the board of directors and keep them informed.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and a strategic plan.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the company.
  • Develop the company’s culture and overall company vision.
  • Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale.
  • Work with senior stakeholders, chief financial officer, human resources, and other executives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the company.
  • Evaluate the founding principles of our organization, its current state, and the market to inform our vision.
  • Draft and ensure adherence to pertinent budgets.
  • Hire and monitor the duties of Department Heads to ensure their alignment with our strategic plans.
  • Mediate disputes to promote amicable and cooperative relationships among staff.
  • Collaborate with the Controller regarding the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a relevant discipline or MBA.
  • Experience in a senior management position.
  • Previous experience in a Custom or Retail Signage company strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and the workforce.
  • Understanding of human resources and personnel management.
  • Experience with corporate governance.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate
