G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Billing Asssitant to join its team in Houston, Tx.

 

Summary:

As a Billing Assistant, you will be responsible for following up on outstanding claims, patient balances, unallocated and overpayments, and miscellaneous billing/collections projects under the direction of the Billing Team Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Work and manage relationship with outsourced agencies to help resolve disputes for outstanding claims in a timely manner
  • Calls insurance companies to follow up with claims or patient balances
  • Takes initiative to research claims and reconcile patient accounts to applied credits, balances, etc.
  • Send correspondence and appeals to payers as needed
  • Communicate with patients to resolve billing related disputes and outstanding balances
  • Able to obtain authorizations for surgeries and office activities
  • Enter charges and bills as required; attached required paperwork and auth as needed
  • Stay up to date on medical terminology and procedures as it relates to billing
  • Adhere to all HIPAA and billing regulations.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications

Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum of five years medical billing office experience preferred with orthopedic experience.

 

Education:

  • High school or equivalent

 

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge medical billing terminology
  • Experience in a healthcare and customer service and billing role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to consistently meet goals and deadlines
  • Acute attention to detail
  • High quality standards
