G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join its team in Lakewood, NJ.

  

The plant maintenance mechanics report to the Maintenance Manager. They are responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, conveyors, industrial controls, switches, relays, and other production equipment. The mechanics will diagnose machinery components and determine if and when adjustments and repairs are required.

 

This would be a second shift position (3pm -11:30pm EST) Monday-Thursday. There is also optional Saturday overtime available as well.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform electrical and mechanical repairs as needed on the plant equipment
  • Ensure operation of the mechanical equipment and machinery by performing preventative maintenance
  • Perform daily inspection of all equipment to minimize unforeseen breakdowns
  • Install wear parts on major industrial equipment such as conveyors, glass breakers, screens, etc.
  • Adjusts work priorities as necessary to meet production needs
  • Ability to multi-task and work under limited supervision
  • Ability to perform physical requirements such as bending, reaching, stretching, and lifting
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment
  • Position requires personal tools
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Must comply with plant safety practices

Qualifications

  • Industrial Mechanical Experience in production style environment
  • Experience with repairing conveyers required
  • High School or equivalent
  • Programmable Logic Controller Experience
  • US Work Authorization
  • Fabrication knowledge (MIG / TIG / ARC / OXY ACETYLENE / Brazing, etc.)
  • Manual dexterity to evaluate, install and modify equipment
  • Will consider recent trade school graduates
