Overview

G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join its team in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and updates on all issues related to the truck cab  
  • Welding & Fabricating skills to either existing specifications or for upgrade modifications 
  • Operating and utilizing diagnostic and electrical testing equipment 
  • Collaborating with colleagues on larger projects
  • Operating various shop equipment and tools, including forklifts and Dingo’s
  • Assesing which repairs are suitable for in-house completion and those requiring vendor assistance
  • Individual to provide required tools with toolbox to perform above duties

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years’ experience as a diesel mechanic   
  • Familiarity with fundamental principles pertaining to internal combustion engines powered by diesel and gas
  • Extensive expertise in diagnosing and repairing trucks from leading manufacturers such as Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Peterbilt, International, and Kenworth
  • Proficient in conducting DOT Inspections as it relates to air brake system and components
  • Demonstrates the ability to diagnose, rectify, and perform upkeep on Single Phase and 3 Phase Generators (up to 480V)

PREFERRED SKILLS:

 

  • Diagnostic and Repair experience with Caterpillar and John Deere heavy equipment
