G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Landscape Carpenter and Designer to join its team in Austin, TX.

 

Summary

The Landscape Carpenter and Designer  must be proficient in various carpentry tasks, familiar with working on commercial and residential sites, and be ready to assist landscape personnel when needed. The Landscape Carpenter and Designer will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wood structures and fixtures using carpenter’s hand and power tools. Maas Verde’s mission is to use the core principles of ecology to design, build, and maintain functioning landscapes

Responsibilities

  • Assembling and installing structures, such as decks, pergolas, patio covers, enclosures, walkways, railings, and stairs
  • Constructing forms for the placement of concrete and structures
  • Installing permanent metal deck forms
  • Selecting and preparing materials such as plywood, lumber, and steel for formwork construction
  • Working with and maintaining carpentry tools and equipment
  • Removing formwork from cured concrete, while preserving the quality of the concrete surface
  • Inspecting formwork for defects, proper alignment, adherence to specifications, and making necessary adjustments for accuracy and quality
  • Performing other related work, as assigned by superiors

Non Negotiables

  • Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment background and MVR check
  • All field employees must complete First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 courses upon hire, or submit current proof of certification within the first 90-days of employment
  • Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 100 pounds on a frequent basis

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Must be a licensed Carpenter
  • 3+ years previous experience in carpentry, masonry, landscaping, irrigation, or related field
  • Maintain a quality mindset and be self-motivated
  • Be proficient in landscape construction terms, practices, and techniques
  • 3+ years previous experience in outdoor residential and/or commercial carpentry
  • 3+ years previous experience with hand tools and power tools commonly used in carpentry
  • Have a thorough understanding of woodworking surface refinement equipment and procedures (i.e. sanders, chisels, hand planes, and various other tools)
  • Be adept at fabricating custom pieces tailored to specific project needs
  • Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Be available to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
  • Feel comfortable communicating directly with all levels of the organization
  • Understand occupational hazards and safety precautions
