G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Landscape Certified Welder to join its team in Austin,TX.

 

Summary

The Landscape Certified Welder will be responsible for expertly constructing landscape structures using various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. The Landscape Certified Welder must be familiar with working in commercial and residential environments, and be ready to assist landscape personnel when needed. 

Responsibilities

  • Performing welding operations on structural, pipe, edging, retaining walls, planter boxes, and sheet metal projects
  • Proficiently operate angle grinders, saws, torches, etc. to prepare parts for welding
  • Laying out and welding steel structures to ensure precise fits and high-quality finishes
  • Verifying and adjusting welding conditions as needed to meet part and/or material specifications, and set up components accordingly
  • Follow blueprints to accurately execute welding tasks, producing strong and clean welds
  • Welding in various positions, including vertical, horizontal, and overhead
  • Proper maintenance of equipment and tools
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superiors
  • Identifying potential issues and developing solutions

Non Negotiables

  • Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment background and MVR check
  • All field employees must complete First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 courses upon hire, or submit current proof of certification within the first 90-days of employment
  • Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 100 pounds on a frequent basis.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • 3+ years Previous experience in landscaping, irrigation, or related field
  • Must be a Certified Welder
  • Maintain a quality mindset and be self-motivated
  • Minimum of 3 years MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding experience
  • Be familiar with working with various materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum)
  • Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Be available to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
  • Know how to perform routine machine maintenance
  • Feel comfortable communicating directly with all levels of the organization
  • Be able to use various inspection gages
  • Preferred: have a one year Welding Certification through an educational institution
  • Understand occupational hazards and safety precautions
