G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a General  Manager (Recycling Plant) to join its team in Hudson, CO.

Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Design, optimize, and apply the operations flow to ensure that the input and products output is according with the company projections and needs.
  • Observe operations, make input data, data analysis, results and conclusions, in order to propose improvements and efficiencies in the operations flow in order to reduce the unit cost of the products developed.
  • Maintain quality product by stablishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Request bids for subcontractors and vendors, analyze them, negotiate and award them, keeping records of all key information for the operations of the plant.
  • Advise the company with the purchase of new equipment, analyzing costs, performance, productivity, installation, maintenance, making sure that the new equipment is included in the operations flow diagram, and coordinates with manufacturers, shipping companies, and other agents the completion of the purchase.
  • Prepare and coordinate the maintenance plan of the shredding equipment, mobile equipment, and plant systems.
  • Design an effective cost control system, comparing with the company projections, breaking down the cost per each item or equipment, analyzing maintenance, operations, indirect and direct costs, proposing changes and efficiencies if necessary to comply with company estimations.
  • Prepare and apply the company Health and Safety Program, ensuring that the operations team is trained and complies with OSHAS regulations. Create and coordinate the Standard Operations Procedures, SOP, and Job Safety Analysis, JSA, designing the training program for employees, and lead the weekly safety meetings in collaboration with the operations supervisor.
  • Continuous research and analysis of the tire recycling business and operations, new equipment and procedures, in order to be updated, and propose to the company Board improvements to the plant to enhance the performance and profitability of the organization.


Business Management

  • Build the team for operations and company administration, designing the company organization and job posts, preparing job descriptions, making interviews, and hiring the staff necessary for the correct and efficient running of the company, following the company policies and adjusting them to the new organization.
  • Prepares monthly reports summarizing the company performance for the company Board.
  • Advise the company in new investments, suggesting priorities when needed, analyzing the impact in costs, operations, and timing.
  • Assist the company in marketing plan, proposing actions, marketing campaigns, assisting with prices developments, studying the competition, prospecting the market to find potential clients, and maintaining excellent relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Coordinate and oversee the interaction with other company agents and entities, such as sales agents, insurance agents, financial organizations, legal entities, accountants, partners, and public entities.
  • Design an effective system for company procedures, administration, recordkeeping, data input, and processes.
  • Prepare company year budget, cash flow needs, sales and costs projections, according with the company expectations and needs.
  • Manage, encourage, and lead the staff, as a team leader, in operations and administrative departments, providing a reliable source and defining the proper training, functions, responsibilities, and competencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Engineering and/or Business Management with specialty in Industrial/manufacturing environments or recycling business.
  • 5 years in business management in industrial/manufacturing or recycling businesses.
  • Experience managing administration software like QuickBooks or similar.
  • Experience managing and leading a team of at least 10 people.
  • Excellent communications and verbal skills in English at a high level environment.
  • Excellent computer skills in spread sheets, text processors, planning software, and new technologies.
  • Good computer skills in graphic software able to represent operations flow diagrams and plant layout.
  • The candidate has to have the skills of problem-solving, self-starter, reliable, organized, self-motivated, and focus on goals.
