G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Certified Medical Coder to join its team in San Antonio, TX.

 

The Certified Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and coding diagnostic and procedural information for outpatient pain management services. This position ensures that coding is accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory and reimbursement requirements. 

Responsibilities

  • Process medical billing and collections efficiently to ensure timely reimbursement
  • Stay updated on coding guidelines, regulations, payer policies and compliance standards
  • Utilize EHR functions to document all pertinent information
  • Maintains confidentiality by following all applicable HIPPA regulations
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to clarify diagnosis and procedures when necessary.
  • Conduct regular coding audits to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current coding rules, payer requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Efficiently use Electronic Health Records (EHR) to document and retrieve necessary patient and coding information.

Qualifications

  • AAPC or AHIMA certification with current Identification number
  • 2-3 years of experience in medical coding preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills (preferably able to type a minimum of 55 WPM)
  • Ability to work at a high pace and detailed orientated environment
  • Strong knowledge of CPT4, ICD10, HCPCS, all Government, Commercial plans to include Workers Compensation
