G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Volunteer Resources Manager to join its team in San Antonio, TX. 

 

Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas (GSSWT) is headquartered in San Antonio, TX and serves more than 15,000 Girl Scouts (girls and adults) across 21 counties in southwest Texas. The Volunteer Resources Manager is responsible for providing leadership in the development of innovative strategies and effective service for supporting adult membership. The manager is responsible for creating a robust, comprehensive and continuous learning plan for all volunteers.  Leads ongoing curriculum development and supplemental learning opportunities.  Recruits and develops volunteer facilitators to deliver various training initiatives.  Coordinates and delivers online, live virtual, and in person training.  The manager works in partnership with other operational and organizational functions to implement training with a focus on volunteer and parent learning to enhance the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and to support organizational mission, goals and strategic priorities. 

Responsibilities

  • Delivers high impact training content to volunteers to enhance their ability to deliver the Girl Scout Leadership experience to ultimately increase membership retention.
  • Leads ongoing training curriculum development for troop leaders and volunteers and delivers initial on-board training, program level training, volunteer enrichment and others as needs are identified.
  • Prepare and deliver training materials for a variety of channels (webinar content, social media, resource center, on-line training, classroom content, and in-person training resources for individual and team learning) align training schedules with the needs of business cycle.
  • Manage the GSSWT Resource Center and Front Desk, keeping the materials, resources, and equipment relevant.
  • Manage the resource center staff and volunteer support team.
  • Recruit and train volunteers, guiding and effectively communicating program information.
  • Coordinates CPR/First Aid training and manages volunteer adult learning facilitators.
  • Acts as curriculum design expert, supporting council wide training needs and deliverables.
  • Ensure training modules and manuals (including the on-line learning system) are of the highest quality, are developed in a timely manner, are easily accessible, and advertised to the appropriate audience to ensure leaders are prepared to deliver our brand promise ultimately enhancing the Girl experience and increasing retention. 
  • Supports two large scale annual volunteer learning events: Volunteer Appreciation and Volunteer Expo.
  • Responsible for reviewing end of course evaluations, implementing feedback, and analyzing trends.
  • Coordinates and leads the annual roll out of Volunteer Essentials and the customization of the document to reflect council specific policies.
  • Act as a resource at the service unit level, using Girl Scout policies and procedures such as Safety Checkpoints, Volunteer Essentials and Risk Management procedures, to strengthen volunteer effectiveness.
  • Builds, maintains, and reviews reports in Sales-force and/or Looker, in coordination with the data department, that supports the Member & Volunteer Services department.
  • Maintains compliance with council and GSUSA policies as well as federal and state regulations while ensuring that the organizational goals are met.
  • Maintains contact center database by entering information accurately and quickly.
  • Travels between council locations as needed; a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as part of our Second and Fourth Saturday program offerings.
  • Manages and coordinates department budget and corresponding resource allocations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned in support of the council’s mission and goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and two to four years of progressive responsibility; or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: Must be proficient in using computers and Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Power-Point, and Word).
