Summary

This full time, permanent position allows the successful candidate to work for a fee-only comprehensive financial planning firm in the west Houston (TX) area. This position is an in-person position only.

Responsibilities

The candidate will assist advisors to provide financial planning services to clients by undertaking the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and analyze client tax estimates (federal/state/trust) using tax planning software
  • Provide tax recommendations and tax planning strategies for clients to advisors
  • Develop client rebalance schedules and asset allocations using Excel
  • Prepare estimated tax payment vouchers for individuals (state/federal) and trusts
  • Populate and analyze outputs from financial planning software
  • Prepare quarterly client billing invoices
  • Gather data for quarterly investment committee meetings
  • Other analytical tasks/projects on as needed basis
  • Administrative tasks on as needed basis

Qualifications

  • Enrolled Agent, CPA, or in the process of obtaining CPA designation
  • Minimum 5 years of individual tax preparation experience
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience preparing individual federal/state/trust tax returns
  • Very high attention to detail and ability to conceptually understand big picture concepts
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously with varying deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Quick learner
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop continuous improvements within their role
  • Capable of handling feedback constructively and using it for continuous improvement
  • High degree of integrity and judgment
  • Understanding of investments is not required for this role

Salary

Starting salary is $85,000 up to $100,000

The starting range represents the low and high end of the G&A Partners’ range for this position. Actual wages will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of G&A’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include commissions, annual bonuses, and program specific rewards. In addition, G&A Partners provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending, ancillary benefits, retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
