G&A Partners' client is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its team in Houston, TX.

 

Summary

Our client has an opening for an electrical engineer with experience in RF electronics. More specifically, we are seeking an individual with experience designing, testing, and trouble-shooting electronics for MWD and RSS Systems. Also, this engineer designs, develops and tests digital and analog systems for high temperature LWD applications. Also, he designs, develops, tests, enhances, and maintains embedded firmware for downhole systems. His responsibilities include electrical research and product development as well as supporting the production process of developed products. This is a high-level position for an experienced engineer with commensurate compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Develops specifications and documentation of circuits and software for LWD tools, specifically for multi-frequency, multi-transmitter propagation resistivity tools and nuclear tools.
  • Develops high temperature and rugged electronics that operate reliability in the downhole drilling environment.
  • Develops RF transmitter and receiver antennas and associated analog and digital electronics.
  • Tests and maintains existing firmware.
  • Troubleshoots problems with existing tools and systems.
  • Applies his knowledge of ruggedized design methodologies for the high temperature, high vibration downhole drilling environment.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-10 years in field of specialization.
  • 5-10 years mwd/lwd experience is preferred.
  • Basic research and analytical skills.
  • Knowledgeable of general principles, concepts, theories, and practices in field of electrical engineering and mwd/lwd downhole electronics.
  • Strong experience with embedded firmware on various microprocessors and microcontrollers.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.

Salary

Starting wage is $100,000/yr up to 150,000/yr

The starting range represents the low and high end of the G&A Partners’ range for this position. Actual wages will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of G&A’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include commissions, annual bonuses, and program specific rewards. In addition, G&A Partners provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending, ancillary benefits, retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
